I guess you can say I’ve been a pizza connoisseur for the past few months as I’ve been trying some new italian restaurants throughout the state, old favorites and new discoveries. I find nothing more satisfying and simple than a personal or slice of a pizza and a nice beer and/or cocktail for a meal. While on this journey I find out a new restaurant called, Il Fornetto Trattoria (where Pino’s used to be for any locals) has opened in Marlboro, NJ. Marlboro is a bit of a trip for me, almost half hour away from where I live but if I find a good place, I know it’s worth it. I also love that I can visit my favorite Manhattan mixologist Theresa Fowler, at a close-to-home venue. Her cocktails are amazing and a deal here in NJ, and not to be missed!
Il Fornetto is certainly worth it and here is why:
- They have an awesome menu, with tons of variety and innovative pies and fresh dishes. Check out the full menu, here.
- As I mentioned earlier, the drinks are top-notch and a big deal in so many ways. They have great classic martinis to flaming martinis as well as new cocktails made by Theresa daily.
- They have happy hour Monday to Friday 4pm-7pm that includes half off beer and $2 off their delicious cocktails. See the full list of daily specials for yourself, here.
I’ve been at least three times since the grand re-opening and have been impressed every single time. I love their pizza and how many choices they have, they are also made to perfection. My dad loved the Octopus salad he got the first we went, too. I am also always impressed by Theresa’s cocktails since she always has something new for me to try.
