#SCBDTravels to #DOAC

scbdtravelsIt’s a big Jersey thing to “vacation” or better yet “staycation” in Atlantic City. Atlantic City has everything, the beach, boardwalk, great restaurants, nightclubs and casinos. One of my favorite casinos to stay in is The Tropicana where you can find Cuba Libre and Wet Willie’s we reviewed. It’s very easy to navigate around, restaurants are great, and the casino is fun. This time around Arlene and I attended a press trip where our room was provided by DO AC so we stayed at Harrah’s.

I really liked Harrah’s but when you consider staying there keep in mind, wifi isn’t free which is a pretty big deal breaker for me since I am always posting. I highly suggest they change that. Also since we stayed on a Monday night, a lot of the restaurants we ate at weren’t open. Otherwise the trip was fun since mom and I have always wanted to have a girls night in AC.

One of the biggest positives of attending the press trip this past week and another #DOACNightlife trip a few weeks back is that I’ve grown to love The Golden Nugget.  If you are into the nightclub scene, Haven is the spot for you. They have a great DJ and it’s a fun spot. I also LOVE the H20 bar. The view from the rooftop is phenomenal. They also have FREE wifi at Golden Nugget and you can get it at The Rooftop. It was definitely an awesome VIP perk of the trip.  We were served some delish small bites along with wine, beer, or soda which hit the spot.

If you are into sand sculpting Ac has their Sand sculpting world cup going on until July 6th. We were dropped off by the location after cocktail hour and got to see awesome sculptures like the picture above. It was awesome to see different artists from all the over the world come to AC just to be part of it and how much depth and thought was in their work. You can find more info, here. Go if you have a chance, it’s FREE!

After taking a walk on the boardwalk after checking out the sculptures we stopped at Fralinger’s for salt water taffy. I used to love going there growing up and the experience was just as great as it always was. After that we decided it was time to head back to Harrah’s for dinner. As I mentioned, the restaurant’s Sammy D’s and Dos Caminos were closed because it was a Monday night so we went with the most budget friendly option available, Bill’s Burger & Bar. I had the strawberry lemonade cocktail and mom had the mojito which were both pretty good. I was craving a salad so I went with the cobb salad which was huge and won. I couldn’t finish it but it tasted fresh and was how I’d imagine a deluxe cobb salad would taste. Mom had the reuben which she loved, said it was one of her favorites. It def hit the spot but I don’t know if we would’ve gone there otherwise. I know it’s very popular in NYC so it was worth having the dine in experience.  I also want to try one of their boozy shakes next time I’m at Harrah’s!  After gambling for a bit, we decided to have gelato from the 24 hour marketplace in the resort which was great! They had a unique variety of flavors so it was hard figuring out which was one to have.

It was a great time like anytime I’ve gone to AC. I’d also definitely reconsider staying by the marina, especially The Golden Nugget. I also highly recommend taking a trip down or up to Atlantic City if you haven’t been there yet. It’s definitely a Jersey version of Vegas and is so much fun!

Cheers, Happy Travels!
